Welcome back. Sharing of news and YOUR plans for this term. Discussion of Waiting for Julie. Workshop: Exercise that writing muscle - some fun exercises to get you in the mood, together with an ideas prompt sheet to keep you going. Come with pen, paper and a smile! |

FRIDAY 30th September |
Sharing of news. Tutorial: Writing for Children followed by our guest speaker, local author Sylvia Green, who will tell us how she sets about researching for her books. Sylvia will bring along some of her books, and will answer your questions. |
| SATURDAY 8th October | Saturday workshop with Colin Archer. 11am - 4pm. Venue: St John's (to be confirmed). Bring your own lunch. Colin will announce a Christmas competition for paid up Walton Wordsmith members. Look out for a flier and booking form - available soon. Why not bring a writing friend £5. |

Sharing of news. Workshop: If music be the food of love, play on (Shakespeare). Using music with the word love in its title, a theme of love, or the word love in its lyrics, to trigger an idea for an emotional piece of writing. Reading of manuscripts - limited to 10 minutes each. |

Sharing of news. Tutorial: Rhythm and Style. What do we mean by style and how can we use rhythm in our work? There will be a fact file to accompany this tutorial. Reading of manuscripts - limited to 10 minutes each. |

Sharing of news. Guest speaker: We are hoping to invite a Literary agent to talk about current needs. |
FRIDAY 9th December |
Sharing of news. Colin Archer will comment on Christmas competition entries and announce the winner. At 12.00: Christmas social gathering and lunch at a venue to be decided by members. |
